Seeds benefits

I love SEEDS as they are yummy and great nutrient boosters. Their taste is mostly SWEET according to Ayurvedic nutrition, meaning they are STRENGTHENING, NURTURING and NOURISHING.

n Ayurveda, the amount and type of seeds will depend on each person’s constitution and/or imbalance. However, there’s a method everyone can follow to benefit digestion, which will eventually result in their better assimilation.

The trick is called “agni samskara” meaning heat/fire application before eating them.

How? Just DRY ROAST them. Especially the biggest ones like pumpkin or sunflower seeds. Besides their increased benefits, they are even tastier. Here is what I did:

1. Dry roast sunflower seeds over a medium heat for 2 minutes. Stir continuously.

2. Add brown and black sesame seeds. Continue stirring.

3. Turn off the heat when they little ones start popping.

I then added a pinch of pink rock salt and my son ate this as part of his snack.

You can keep them in a jar and use them in salads or muesli.
