Simply Hot Water

Believe it or not, drinking hot water is the simplest and easiest way to improve your digestion.

In Ayurveda, digestion is initiated by Agni. Agni, also known as “digestive fire”, is put out when drinking cold beverages or eating cold food. So, by adding hot water to your routine, you will help your digestive enzymes digest and assimilate your meals much better.

Another useful concept is Ama, meaning toxins or free radicals. Ama is the result of a bad digestion. Hot water prevents the build up of Ama and removes it from the cells and tissues.

Try sip hot water frequently throughout the day, for example every 30 minutes. You will surely feel the benefits in a few days.

Extra challenge: a pinch of ginger, cardamom or fennel can be added as well.
